How our Farm-to-Home membership works
Interested in becoming a member? Email motherearthfarmpa@gmail.com to sign-up now! Limited shares available.
What’s Included
Fresh produce available weekly throughout the growing season plus optional add-ons of free-range chicken eggs or gourmet mushrooms (more details below). Each share is sized for a small family or individuals/couples who focus on eating locally and sustainably. A sample share during the height of the season may include: mixed greens, kale, green beans, heirloom tomatoes, garlic, cherry tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, cucumbers and squash. See pictures below for examples of what our Spring, Summer and early Fall shares may include.
Weekly or bi-weekly pick-up
Choose between a weekly or bi-weekly membership option. Pick-up on either Tuesday or Thursday from the Farm, located on Warren road (just west of 422), 4 minutes from downtown Indiana, PA.
We understand schedules change and vacations happen, we simply ask for a minimum of one week notice if you will not be able to pick-up your share any given week.
Flexible payment options
We ask members to pay quarterly for the estimated cost of the season with the first payment requested at time of first pick-up. We only charge you for what you receive, so at the end of the season we’ll compare actual share cost to what you paid to determine the remaining due (or refund) at the time of the last share pick-up. This allows you to skip shares (with a minimum week notice) and not be charged for that week’s share.
Average yearly costs for weekly members over a 22-24 week season is approximately $500 or $250 for every-other-week members.
Payment can be made by cash, check or via the Venmo app (@motherearthfarmpa).
Season timing
First shares generally are available late May, but could be sooner or later depending on the weather. Members will be notified in advance of the first pick-up. The season ends in October.
Free-range eggs
Members can request to add a dozen eggs (as available) to their weekly or every-other-week shares at an additional cost of $5/dozen. Our chickens are raised with care and are free-range, meaning they can leave their coop daily to forage throughout the fields. In addition to foraged food, they are provided locally sourced, non-GMO feed.
Mushrooms
We partner with Oak Haven Mushrooms out of Blairsville, PA to offer members optional add-ons of gourmet mushrooms to their shares. A mushroom share consists of one-pound gourmet mushrooms. The types of mushrooms change but can include: oyster, lion’s mane, king trumpet, chestnut, and more!
Chloe, of Mother Earth Farm, also cultivates outdoor mushrooms that can be added to shares when available. Varieties include shiitake and wine cap mushrooms.
